This planter is inspired by the Bwa Sun Mask. The circular face represents the sun and is used during dances to celebrate the farming season and bring fourth an abundant yield. The Bwa seek the aid of powerful natural spirits who live in the wild forests, bush country, and rivers surrounding their villages.
They create masks that make the spirits visible and put them in touch with their people. Dancing these masks on market days, funerals, and initiation ceremonies honors the spirits and brings forth their blessings.
There are three drainage holes located at the bottom of the piece. The inside is left unglazed.

Bwa Mask Planter Commission
Each piece I create has a unique design, no two masks are the same. I don't accept design suggestions, however, feel free to pick your favorite color! I also offer a "Surprise Color" option. Choosing this option will indicate you would like any of the four colors provided.
*The Bwa Masks pictured are from previous commissions, they provide a reference for the color choices. They do not reflect or indicate you will receive the pieces shown. With each batch of work I create, there is a variation of colors and design due to the type of clay and firing of each process*
Commission pieces will typically take 4 to 5 weeks to complete. Once your Bwa Mask is complete I will notify you it is ready to be shipped and you will receive tracking information. Please check the Buyer Info Page to find out how long it will take for your piece to be delivered once it is shipped out.
Feel free to email me for updates or any questions you may have about your piece.
